Sun Life Building
“The quality of a work is proportional to the heart invested in it.”
In 1992, Sun Life Canada entrusted our team with the restoration of the ground floor of its iconic building located in downtown Montreal. More than thirty years later, the new owners, in collaboration with BGO, have once again placed their trust in us to rethink and modernize this space while respecting its heritage character and architectural significance.
This mandate is part of a broader approach to space requalification, aimed at adapting the layout to contemporary standards in terms of functionality, sustainability, and client experience, while preserving the building’s distinctive features. The work was carried out with careful attention to architectural integration, ensuring aesthetic and structural continuity with the building’s original identity, first inaugurated in 1918.
Atelier MMR contributed to the project through the production of custom millwork, precisely integrated into the existing architecture and meeting the project’s high standards for quality and durability.
We would like to thank our entire team and partners for their rigorous execution, technical expertise, and commitment throughout the project.
This achievement reflects a long-standing relationship of trust and a collaboration that spans decades, illustrating our ability to work on landmark buildings while balancing modernization, heritage preservation, and excellence in execution.
